斯坦尼斯拉斯•瓦林卡

Starace)…Went 2-9 vs. Top 10 opponents and compiled marks of 15-12 on hard, 13-7 on clay and 3-1 on grass.

2008 -- The Swiss No. 2 compiled his most consistent season by breaking into Top 10, reaching two ATP finals and winning a doubles gold medal at Beijing Olympics...Opened year with runner-up in Doha (l. to Murray in three sets) and followed with 2nd RD at Australian Open where he retired with a stomach muscle strain vs. Gicquel...In March, reached QF at AMS Indian Wells (l. to eventual champ Djokovic)...During European clay court circuit, advanced to SF in Barcelona (d. No. 7 Nalbandian, l. to Ferrer) and followed with first AMS final in Rome (d. 2006 -- Compiled first winning record (33-24) by capturing first ATP title in Umag as Djokovic retired in first set tie-break due to breathing difficulties...Reached SF in Auckland, Barcelona and Basel....Also a QF in Vienna...Reached 3rd RD at Wimbledon with wins over Karlovic (11-9 in fifth) and Calleri (l. to Ancic)...Defeated No. 4 Nalbandian en route to 3rd RD at AMS Cincinnnati and followed with 3rd RD at US Open...Went 3-8 vs. Top 10 opponents...

2005 -- Advanced to first ATP QF in Barcelona with wins over Garcia-Lopez, Srichaphan and Acasuco (l. to Stepanek)...Made AMS debut in Rome and reached 2nd RD and Grand Slam debut at Roland Garros, getting to 3rd RD (d. Massu, Blake; l. to Puerta)...On home soil, reached first ATP final in Gstaad (l. to Gaudio)...In US Open debut, reached 3rd RD by winning five setters over R. Ram and Puerta (l. to Massu)...Lost two difficult Davis Cup matches vs. The Netherlands in 1st RD, losing in four sets after playing three tie-breaks vs. Wessels, then falling 9-7 in fifth to Schalken...But helped Switzerland return to Davis Cup World Group (d.
