Teamed with Robert Seguso to win 27 titles since 1984 when the two left
college at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. In college he was a 1983 singles
and doubles All-America and a two-time NCAA Division 2 singles champion.
A big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals (baseball team), Flach threw out
the first ball on the Cards' opening day in 1986.
A member of the U.S. Davis Cup team from 1985-89, Flach-Seguso were 10-2
in doubles play (after 10 wins). Gold medalist (w/Seguso) at '88 Olympics.
Named the 1985 ATP Doubles Team of the Year (w/Seguso).
Earned a career-high $359,920 in 1985 when he won seven doubles titles
with Seguso.
Suffered his first major injury in November 1989 in a first round
doubles match at Wembley. On match point, he tore two ligaments in his left
ankle.
Became the 25th player in the Open Era to win 30 doubles titles as he
teamed with Rick Leach to win the Japan Open on Apr. 11, 1993.
